When you register for or use Rush Alert, we may collect:

• Institution or organization, where applicable
• Emergency contact information
• Other information voluntarily provided through your account

1.2 Emergency Contact Information

Rush Alert allows users to designate individuals as emergency contacts. We may process information relating to these contacts, including:

• Name
• Telephone number
• Email address
• Relationship or contact designation

Users are responsible for ensuring that they are permitted to provide the contact information of persons they designate as emergency contacts.

1.3 Location Information

Location information is an important component of Rush Alert's safety functionality. Depending on your device permissions and the feature being used, Rush Alert may collect precise or approximate location information.

Location information may be used to:

• Determine your location when a distress alert is activated
• Allow authorized emergency contacts or responders to locate you
• Provide updated location information during an active emergency
• Support trip-monitoring and safety features
• Support campus escort or similar safety services
• Investigate technical or safety-related incidents where appropriate

1.4 Distress Alert Information

When a distress alert is activated through the Rush Alert application or compatible Rush Alert panic button, we may process:

• User identity
• Date and time of the alert
• Location at or following activation
• Alert status
• Emergency contacts notified
• Institution or responder receiving the alert
• Actions associated with the alert
• Relevant device or technical information

1.5 Trip and Safety Monitoring Information

If you use trip-monitoring or check-in functionality, we may collect:

• Trip start time
• Expected completion or check-in time
• Check-in status
• Missed check-ins
• Location information
• Safety alerts generated in connection with the trip

1.6 Driver Identification Information

Where Rush Alert allows users to record or share information about a vehicle or driver for safety purposes, we may process:

• Vehicle licence plate number
• Vehicle description
• Driver-related information entered by the user
• Trip-related information

1.7 Incident Reports

An incident report may include:

• Description of the incident
• Date and time
• Location
• Photographs or supporting information
• Contact information
• Other information voluntarily provided by the user

Where anonymous reporting is available and selected, Rush Alert will seek to avoid displaying the user's identity to the party receiving the report. Technical information may still be processed where necessary for system security, abuse prevention or legal compliance.

1.8 Device and Technical Information

We may automatically collect information such as:

• Application version
• Device identifiers
• IP address
• Error and crash information
• Login and authentication activity
• Security logs
• Feature usage and system interaction information

2. How We Use Information

Rush Alert may use personal information to:

• Create and maintain user accounts
• Authenticate users
• Deliver distress alerts
• Notify emergency contacts
• Notify participating institutions or authorized responders
• Provide location information during emergencies
• Operate trip-monitoring and safety check-in features
• Facilitate campus escort or similar safety requests

• Provide broadcast safety notifications
• Maintain the Rush Alert panic button and related integrations
• Provide technical and customer support

3. Distress Alerts and Location Sharing

When a user activates a Rush Alert distress alert, certain information may be transmitted to the user's predefined emergency contacts and/or participating institution.

This may include:

• The user's name
• The fact that a distress alert has been activated
• The user's current or most recently available location
• Updated location information during the active alert
• The time the alert was activated
• Other information reasonably necessary to assist with the emergency

Location availability and accuracy may depend on GPS, internet connectivity, cellular service, device permissions, battery status, operating-system restrictions and other factors outside Rush Alert's control.

4. Rush Alert Panic Button

Where a user connects a compatible physical Rush Alert panic button to the application, activation of the button may initiate a distress alert.

Information processed may include the user's account information, alert status, location, device information and information required to notify designated emergency contacts or participating institutions.

The panic button is intended to provide an additional method of activating Rush Alert and does not guarantee that an emergency response will occur.

5. Participating Institutions

Rush Alert may be made available through universities, businesses, communities, security organizations or other participating institutions.

Where a user's account is connected to a participating institution, authorized personnel may receive or access information necessary to provide the relevant safety service, including:

• Distress alerts
• User identification
• Location during an active safety event
• Escort requests
• Incident reports
• Safety-related communications

Participating institutions may also have their own privacy policies and data-handling responsibilities.

6. Broadcast and Safety Communications

Participating institutions may use Rush Alert to send emergency announcements, safety notifications, warnings or other important communications.

Where permitted, communications may be delivered through push notifications, email, SMS, in-app notifications or other available communication channels.

7. How Information May Be Shared

Emergency Contacts

Information may be shared with emergency contacts designated by the user when a relevant safety feature or alert is activated.

Participating Institutions

Information may be shared with authorized personnel of an institution where the user is registered with or connected to that institution's Rush Alert service.

Service Providers

We may use trusted providers for:

• Cloud hosting
• Database services
• Authentication
• Email or SMS delivery
• Push notifications
• Mapping and location services
• Analytics
• Application monitoring
• Cybersecurity

Legal and Safety Requirements

We may disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, respond to lawful government requests, protect users, investigate misuse or respond to emergencies involving a risk of serious harm.

Rush Alert takes reasonable administrative, technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, destruction or loss.

These measures may include:

No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Data Retention

When information is no longer reasonably required, Rush Alert may delete, anonymize or securely dispose of it, subject to applicable legal requirements.

• Other lawful purposes

12. Children and Minors

Rush Alert is not intended for independent use by children below the minimum age permitted under applicable law unless their use is authorized through a parent, guardian, school, institution or another legally permitted arrangement.

13. Third-Party Services

Rush Alert may integrate with third-party technologies such as mapping services, notification providers, cloud infrastructure, telecommunications services and authentication providers.

These services may process information according to their respective privacy policies.

Some technology or cloud service providers used by Rush Alert may process or store information outside Jamaica.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, Rush Alert will seek to use appropriate safeguards consistent with applicable legal requirements.

Rush Alert seeks to handle personal information in accordance with applicable Jamaican privacy and data protection requirements, including principles established under Jamaica's Data Protection Act, 2020, where applicable.
